Banas Dairy installs 1,000KW solar power system

Palanpur: Banaskantha District Co operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (BDCMPUL), popularly known as Banas Dairy, has installed solar-based power system generating 1,000 KW electricity at it premises in Palanpur.

“The dairy will install similar solar plants at its plants in Faridabad (Haryana), Kanpur and Lucknow. These plants will generate 12,000KW power per day from the non-conventional source valued at Rs 1 lakh, which is about 25% of total power consumption,” a statement said.


“The dairy is all set to extend the eco-friendly system to villages. The chilling centres and milk collecting centres will also have the solar power generation systems by 2020,” it added. tnn
