Awareness rally on World Autism Day organsied by Arushi

To observe World Autism Awareness Day an awareness bike rally was held in city on Monday. The rally was conducted by staff, volunteers and students of Arushi.

This ride was on the occasion of World Autism Day which is observed on April 2 every year. This day is marked for Autism Awareness to make people aware about people living with Autism and about their condition.

It is to be noted that every year the day is observed with a different theme and this year the theme of World Autism Day is ‘Empowering girls and women dealing with autism.’

Besides, this year the day was marked as Autism Acceptance Day. All the students, staff, and volunteers were donned in blue colour to mark the peace and honesty associated with this day. The participants seemed to have an enthusiastic approach for the positive attitude and to contribute their bit for the society.

During the rally the awareness was spread through slogans like ‘I teach Au-Some kids’, billboards, chart papers, blue balloons to make it more interactive and fun. The participants enthusiastically participated in the rally.

It is noteworthy that Arushi is an organization working for persons with disability. In line with the vision and mission of the organization, concerted efforts have been taken to create awareness about Autism among people on such a day. Arushi, as an organization, aims to work for children with disabilities and considerable steps are taken and facilities are provided to cater to their specific needs.
