SWANSEA – Target and Shipt, an online marketplace, have launched same-day delivery service to homes in several areas, including Greater Fall River.
The new service starts Tuesday, April 10.
Customers can sign-up online, with an early bird annual membership fee of $49 ($99 is the regular fee), and have thousands of items, including groceries, essentials, electronics, toys, household items and more, delivered to their door, in some cases in as little as an hour.
Delivery is free on orders over $35.
Customers can shop, pay and schedule delivery from the Shipt app or online.
The service will be available in Massachusetts communities including Fall River, New Bedford, Springfield, Boston, and Worcester, as well as in Providence and surrounding areas.
“Same-day delivery was at the top of our list when we were thinking about ways to make shopping at Target even easier,” said John Mulligan, Target’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Shipt’s personalized, customer-focused approach fits perfectly with our commitment to deliver a convenient, exceptional experience and we’re excited to begin offering same-delivery across New England.”
Leading up to the launch, Shipt plans to add more than 1,100 Shipt “shoppers” to deliver Target merchandise across New England. The majority of Target stores will offer Shipt delivery by the 2018 holiday season.
