Procurement of wheat on support price has begun in Ujjain from March 15. Farmers on receiving information about the purchase through SMS are reaching at concerned procurement centers. Wheat procurement work of 14 cooperative societies of Ujjain tahsil is being carried out on silo established at village Lalpur.
Trolleys of the farmers are being weighed in minutes on 50,000 metric ton capacity silo machine.
Silo machine has been installed at village Lalpur to facilitate wheat storage. Fifty thousand metric ton wheat can be stored by advance automatic machines through pumping in this silo. Farmers are not facing any kind of problem through electronic weighing scale and modern laboratory at the center.
Farmers after dumping wheat with the help of hydraulic system at the dumping station and after obtaining weighing slips are reaching their houses within 15 minutes. Under the arrangement, silo with the storage capacity of 150 metric ton per hour stores 50 tractor-trolley wheat in an hour.
The stored wheat remains airtight in the silo center, which help to maintain quality of wheat for a long time. Farmers Bherurao of village Banskhedi, Zakir Hussain of village Kadchha and Usman Patel of village Biaora, who went to sell their wheat at the center are sharing their experience with other farmers. They say that farmers need not to wait long in this silo procurement, whereas the farmers used to wait for hours for their turn in the past.
