KANPUR: A burnt and defaced body of a woman in her early twenties was recovered near a canal in
Sherpur Kala village by
Aaseevan police in
Unnao on Monday evening.
The police could not establish the identity of the woman as her face was defaced.
Aaseevan police said that it is suspected that the woman was murdered somewhere else and the body was later dumped here.
The police took the body in its custody and sent it to mortuary for postmortem examination.
