BENGALURU: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has dashed party’s Member of Legislative Council V Somanna’s aspiration to contest the Assembly election from Hanuru constituency in Chamarajnagar district. Dr Preetam, son of Parimala Nagappa, is set to get the ticket.

Yeddyurappa has ended the confusion and speculations over the choice after a meeting with Somanna, Parimala Nagappa and Preetam.

According to sources,B S Yeddyurappa shot down Somanna’s request for Hanuru ticket by asking why he wanted to contest the Assembly election when he still has over three years of his term as the MLC.
Yeddyurappa is said to have pacified V Somanna by stating that he would be considered for a ticket from Govindarajanagar constituency in Bengaluru.
