Finance chief of Welsh technology company IQE killed in holiday cycling accident

IQE, the Welsh semiconductor maker whose technology is used in the latest iPhone, has revealed that its chief financial officer has died after a cycling accident.

Phillip Rasmussen, who spent a decade at the company, was on holiday in Menorca when the incident occurred on Easter Sunday, IQE said.

Local reports said Mr Rasmussen was hit by a driver who was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, after allegedly testing over the legal limit for alcohol. The father-of-three, who owned a holiday home on the island, was attended to by paramedics but could not be saved.
