The Security forces in Kashmir Valley in a biggest counter-offensive operation in Shopian and Anant Nag killed 13 terrorists and captured one. Two of the killed militants Rais Thokar and Ishaq who abducted and killed Lieutenant Umar Fiyaz were among those killed on Sunday. Three Army Jawans were also killed in the action.
During the encounter stone palters also came out to hit at the Army and an Army firing on such stone palters 4 were killed in cross firing. The Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force Mr Zulfikar Hassan said we will have to take all offensive measures in case they do not refrain from pelting stones on army and para-military force engaged in gun battle.
The Central Government Defence Ministry and Army must take decision to treat the stone palters as terrorists and deal with than like militants. There is no point in dealing with stone palters differently by using tear gas and pallet guns, they operate as combined team against security forces.
There is no rationale behind it. Recently hundreds of stone palters lodged in jail were set free an the assumption that they were reformed and would not indulge on stone palting anymore. Under such Pakistan aided militancy this type of notion are far from the truth in face of ground realities.
The militants are planning attack on Amarnath Yatra. Last year they ambushed a pilgrim bus and killed 14 of the devotees. Few years back they mingled with the yatra as blanket selling traders and opened fire on pilgrims.
The separatists in valley want to disrupt Amarnath Yatra in such way so that it may the abandoned but with public determination it as going on or usually every year in face of hostile conditions.
The Government has taken a firm decision that it would not hold any further talk with Pakistan in Kashmir and deal with the Pak aided an abetted militancy with armed action by the police and Army.
On assuming the office in 2014 Modi Government initiated a dialogue with Pakistan at Foreign Secretary level as a preparatory for the meeting of the Prime Ministers. But the Pakistan High Commissioner in Delhi Mr Basit met separatists leaders of the valley as a third party on the Kashmir issue.
While in the Simla Agreement between Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Pakistan President Mr. ZA Bhutto it was decided that thereon the Kashmir issue would a bilateral issue between the two nations and it was withdrawn from the United Nations.
The Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wanted India to resume talks with Pak but is not a practical to do so with a third party inclusion in it. Mufti urged the Kashmir Pandit at a Delhi function to return to Kahmir but with communal militancy against hindus and Amarnath Yatra it is not possible and feasible till militancy come to and there and normalcy returned.
The Army is relentlessly eliminating the militants there. Sooner or later in day will come when normalcy will return in the Kashmir as at happened after the Khalistani militancy in Punjab which as progressing fast.
