Noida police on Monday detained him after mistaking him for a dalit activist. Police later dropped him at some other place during the Bharat bandh protest.
Rakesh Sinha, RSS functionary and honorary director Indian Policy Foundation, shared the information through his twitter handle. He said that he had visited a news channel’s office in
Noida Film City. Sinha also alleged that a police team led by SHO, Sector 20, Anil Kumar Shahi had hauled him. “Noida Police forcibly pushed me in a van. Their behaviour was unfriendly. They dropped me at around 500 meters away. When asked, the police officials said that I was mistaken as a dalit activist,” he said. He also tagged UP chief minister

Noida police officials said that they had received information about some suspects’ movement in the area. “A police team reached the spot and mistakenly detained Sinha. He was released after his identity was established. The police personnel had extended an apology to him for the inconvenience,” said a police official.
By the evening, Noida police suspended SHO Shahi in connection with the case.
