Tamil superstar and activist Kamal Haasan, in an exclusive interview with India Today, said that he wants to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Cauvery issue.
The actor said that all political parties from Tamil Nadu should unite on the Cauvery issue.
When asked if he wants to be the face of the Cauvery protests, Kamal said that he did not want to be the face but a voice.
The actor, who recently formed the Makkal Neethi Mayyam had on March 29 appealed the Modi-led government to help set up the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) at the earliest.
He said that the prime minister could set up the CMB if he wants to and that it is a simple and basic requirement.
The actor-turned-neta is on his third political tour in Tiruchirappalli.
Earlier this week, Kamal Haasan lent his support to the controversial copper plant in Thoothukudi that has been causing health issues among locals.
Kamal's contemporary Rajinikanth too joined the chorus against the Cauvery issue. Rajinikanth last week in a tweet said that establishment of CMB was the only just solution acceptable to all.
