March was Subaru of America's best monthly effort so far in 2018 thanks to the one-two punch of Outback and Crosstrek.
Subaru sold 16,822 Outbacks and 13,400 Crosstreks, giving each crossover their best March ever, the automaker noted.
Despite only those two nameplates posting gains, it was also the best March ever for the brand overall, Subaru said.
Subaru's U.S. sales streak now stands at 76 months of year-over-year sales increases.
Total sales: 58,097, a 5.9 percent increase.
Notable nameplates: Outback up 5.7 percent, Forester down 7.5 percent, Crosstrek up 88 percent, Impreza, down 22 percent, WRX/STI down 0.7 percent, Legacy, down 21 percent and BRZ down 16 percent.
Incentives: $1,390 per vehicle, up 55 percent from a year earlier, according to ALG.
Average transaction price: $27,877, flat from a year earlier, ALG says.
Quote: "With the arrival of the all-new three-row Ascent later this summer, Subaru's SUV portfolio will continue to lead our success in a competitive industry," Jeff Walters, Subaru of America senior vice president of sales, said in a statement.
Did you know? March was the best-ever month for Crosstrek and the nameplate outsold the Impreza, WRX/STI, Legacy and BRZ combined. It was also the first month the nameplate leared the 13,000 unit mark.
