Man arrested on murder charge

The Kochi City police on Monday recorded the arrest of Giji, a native of Thripunithura, in connection with the murder of his brother George.

An autorickshaw driver at Thripunithura, George was found lying dead at his ancestral house near here on Saturday evening.

The cause of George’s death is attributed to internal bleeding caused by penetration of broken ribs into the liver and other organs. He was also found to have sustained a deep wound on his head.

The brothers had a drunken altercation during which Giji allegedly attacked George with a wooden hammer. The accused was produced before court and remanded in custody.
