Senior BJP leader and seven-time legislator from Srikolayat Devi Singh Bhati today announced that he would not contest the Rajasthan Assembly election slated this year-end.
He told reporters at a press conference here there was no need to be in politics to do good work for the people.
The system has not changed after 70 years of Independence. Even after years, corporate houses are running the system. I would not contest the state Assembly election, but would continue to work for the people, Bhati said.
He has served as an irrigation minister in Rajasthan and contested elections from 1980 to 2013.
