The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, in collaboration with the UNICEF, today organised the National Media Dialogue on Satyagraha se Swachhagraha in New Delhi. It is a nationwide campaign which will be held till the 10th of this month.
The campaign commemorates Champaran Satyagraha to spread the message of Swachhata across the country. More than ten thousand Swachhagrahis from different parts of the country would be working with another ten thousand Swachhagrahis from Bihar to trigger behaviour change in 38 districts of the state and build momentum of the people's movement further.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Parameswaran Iyer said the main objective of the campaign is to sustain the standards of Swachhta and change the behaviour of the people towards it.
The week will culminate with a mega event where the Prime Minister will address twenty thousand Swachhagrahis in Champaran district on 10th of this month. Top ten Swachhagrahis will be awarded for their contribution towards the cause.
