The El Dorado Chamber of Commerce announced several events for the week of April 2 to 8.

The El Dorado Chamber of Commerce announced several events for the week of April 2 to 8. Fanska Farms at 3873 NE 4th Street in El Dorado has joined forces with the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce.

Fanska has graded eggs available to any individual institution or retailer. The eggs are collected daily. They are washed by hand, inspected for cracks or damage, packed in clean, biodegradable cartons and stored at 45 degrees. Delivery is available for free in El Dorado. Eggs are not the only commodity for Fanska Farms. There is also rescued mustangs, macaws, show rabbits, manx cats, a pony and the Fanska mascot, a dog named Shep. Tuesday from 9 am. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital with hold a jewelry, clothing, linen and accessory extravanganza. The items will be on sale in the Susan B. Allen main lobby. Everything is $6. All proceeds benefit the Hospital Auxiliary. 

The Bradford Memorial Library will be holding a book and bake sale Thursday to Saturday at 611 S. Washington. The sale will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Books will available for $7 per bag or 50 cents each book. The Butler Community College Athletic Department will hold its 15th Annual Butler Athletics Mountain Oyster Feed Friday at the Butler County Community Building at 206 S. Griffith in El Dorado. The feeding ensues from 5 to 8 p.m. For $25 fish and mountain oyster lover can get their fill at the all you can eat event. There will also be a silent auction. 

After filling up on catfish and mountain oysters Friday night, Saturday morning is a chance to run those extra pounds off thanks to Oz Events and Spencer, Wernli and Wilson Advisors. From 8 a.m to noon, runners will compete in the El Dorado Half Marathon.

There will be 5 kilometer and 1 mile courses through the streets of El Dorado. Landmarks throughout the course will be the rollings hills, historic train depot, Downtown El Dorado, the Prairie Trails Golf Course and the El Dorado State Park. Tickets are now available for the 2018-2019 El Dorado Community Concert Series. Purchasing a membership for the 2018-2019 season grants free admission to the three concerts in El Dorado as well as free admission to concerts in Topeka, Chanute, Great Bend, Garden City and Ponca City, Okla. Featured at the El Dorado Concert Series at the Performing Arts Center at 500 W. Central Ave. in El Dorado will be artists Sons of Serendip on Nov. 1, Leon Williams on Feb. 24, 2019 and the Doo Wah Rider on April 2, 2019. Ticket orders must be received by April 15.
