In Uttarakhand, an Air Force's helicopter MI -17 crash-landed in Kedarnath of Rudrprayag district this morning at around 9:00 a.m.
The accident took place when the MI-17 chopper was trying to land far from the Kedarnath shrine.
Our correspondent reports there were seven people including pilot on board. All are reported to be safe with minor injuries.
According to the latest report, the Air Force MI-17 helicopter which was carrying equipment for the construction work at Kedarnath, attempted to land at the helipad close to the temple when a part of the helicopter collided with the iron girder and caught fire.
The helicopter plummeted to the ground and turned upside down reportedly injuring pilot. Police and local officials quickly cordoned off the crash site and evacuated the passengers who were given first aid at the site.
It may be recalled on June 10, 2017, a chopper belonging to a Mumbai-based private aviation company crashed in Badrinath while taking off, killing an engineer onboard.
