A 28-year-old man, who was found guilty of the murder of a woman who ran a tuck shop at the infamous Glebelands Hostel in uMlazi, near Durban, is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday, police said.
Khayelihle Mroza Mbuthuma was convicted in the Durban Regional Court on Thursday, March 29, KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Thulani Zwane said.
The woman, Sbongile Mtshali, 52, was shot dead in her room at the hostel in July last year. She was shot in the head and chest.

The hostel has previously been described as a hitmen's den.
Several suspects, including a police sergeant, were arrested during raids at the end of last year for murders that occurred at the hostel.
