DeKALB – In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Northern Illinois University’s next Community Learning Series will focus on how young adults in the autism spectrum can make successful transitions from students to the next stage of their lives.
The event will begin with a reception at the Barsema Alumni and Visitor's Center, 231 N. Annie Glidden Road, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. April 10.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a panel discussion with individuals involved in special education who will share approaches, supports and successes that have empowered their students to achieve productive lives. Resource tables will then be open for another hour.
