Sicily offered one match for kneeing Selwood
Fiery Hawthorn defender James Sicily looks set to miss Sunday's blockbuster with reigning premiers Richmond after being offered a one-match suspension for his knee on Geelong captain Joel Selwood.
Although the incident wasn't initially picked up by many at the ground, video emerged after the game of a scuffle between the pair with Sicily standing over Selwood, who was on the ground.
Midway through the push and shove, Sicily appeared to drop a knee into Selwood's head.
The incident was graded as intentional conduct with low impact to the head.
There is an argument to suggest that Sicily can count himself lucky, given match review officer Michael Christian has the ability to upgrade the impact if he deems the action had the potential to cause serious injury.
"Not too much (of a recollection), until I saw it out the back in the green room. I didn't look like I was too happy with it," Selwood said on Channel 7 after the game.
"He probably picked the wrong bloke to do it to too, because I don't react too well to a lot of things like that.
"It happened quick to be honest. I'm fine tonight. I'm not, hopefully, going to say anything silly. It's just one of those footy incidents."
Three other charges were laid from the Easter Monday epic, with Hawthorn teammates Kaiden Brand and Daniel Howe both offered fines for misconduct, while Cat James Parsons was also slapped with a fine for striking Howe in the first quarter.
