‘Speed up work for timely water supply’

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has directed the officials to speed up the ongoing irrigation work and see to it that water is supplied to farms within the stipulated time-frame.

The Minister held a review meeting at his residence on Tuesday and enquired about the progress of works stating that the promise was to supply water by June/ July and hence, the works must be expedited.

“We have to complete pump house and surge pool lining works fast. Depending on the requirement, double the number of supervisors and other labourers; increase the number of tippers and see that there is not any shortage of sand. Right and Left Canal works of Ranganaiksagar must be completed before monsoon,” Mr. Harish Rao told officials, who were also directed to complete the land acquisition process for laying pipelines at Mittapally, Narsapur and Lingareddypally at the earliest.
