Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each to the next of kin of those who were killed in Mosul, Iraq.
This was announced by the Prime Minister’s office in a release.
Minister of State for External Affairs Gen (Retd) V K Singh had arrived in India on Monday with the bodies of 38 of the 39 Indians killed by the ISIS in Mosul in Iraq.
The announcement came a day after the Opposition slammed the remarks by Gen V K Singh that distributing compensation was not “like distributing biscuits’.
