Mercury now surging up across the state particularly during the day time, things are expected to cool down a bit as it might rain at isolated places, especially in the mountains, for a few days from Tuesday Uttarakhand meteorological centre has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm accompanied with hail/squall. The weather department has forecast rain for at least four days from April 3 which is expected to provide relief to the residents. The Met officials say that a western disturbance which is approaching the state now would trigger the rain across the state, particularly in the hills. The maximum temperature is expected to dip by a few notches following the expected rainy spell.
Dehradun residents experienced a warm day on Monday. However, the sky remained overcast for most part of the day. While the maximum temperature settled at 32.5 degree Celsius the minimum hovered at 17.4 degree Celsius in the city on the day. The highest maximum temperature of the state 32.2°C was recorded at Pantnagar while the lowest minimum temperature 9.2°C was recorded at Munsiyari.
The weather forecast for Dehradun on Tuesday is mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday.
Uttarakhand meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said on Monday that the climate remained dry in the state on Monday. Forest fires being reported from various parts of the state are also expected to abate for some days from April 3 following the change in the weather, he added.
As per the chart sent by the weather department, in Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 33.6 degree Celsius and 16.0 degree Celsius, respectively. In Mukteshwar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 20.6 degree Celsius and 9.7 degree Celsius.
In New Tehri, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 22.4 degrese Celsius and 12.2 degree Celsius respectively.
