Magisterial inquiry into death of Khalsa
Chandigarh: The Kurukshetra district administration has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, a native of Thaska Ali, Ismailabad. An official spokesman said that Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shahabad, will conduct inquiry into what made Khalsa commit suicide on March 20. Members of the family and relatives of the deceased have alleged that Khalsa committed suicide under suspicious circumstances, and due to unknown reasons. The SDM will conduct the inquiry to know the causes of the suicide, investigate all aspects, and submit report at the earliest, he added.
UHBVN to redress consumers’ complaints
Chandigarh: Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam’s (UHBVN) Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) members will make extensive visits in April for hearing grievances of the consumers and to entertain new complaints. Spokesperson said that the proceedings of the CGRF will be held in the circle office at Sonipat on April 4, at Yamunanagar on April 6, Karnal on April 9, Panchkula on April 11, Rohtak on April 12, Kurukshetra on April 13, Panipat on April 20, Ambala on April 23, Kaithal on April 25, Jhajjar on April 26 and respectively.All grievances or complaints like billing problem, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, among others will be aken up.
About 16 kms 4 new roads in 4 distrcts
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday approved Public Works (B&R) Minister Rao Narbir Singh’s proposal to construct four new roads of 15.78 kms of length at a cost of Rs 14.80 crore in Nuh, Rewari, Mahendragarh and Panipat districts. Spokesperson said that 4.58 km road from Bajhera village to Sanghel in Nuh districts will be constructed and provisions of acquisition of additional land over 2.3 acres, 1.94 acre in Bajhera village and 0.94 acre in Sanghel village, has been made to make minimum effective Right of Way equal to or more than 33 feet. This road will be constructed at a cost of over Rs 5.61 crore.
Hry’s coop sugar mills crushes 335.71l quintal sugarcane
Chandigarh: Haryana’s cooperative sugar mills have crushed 335.71 lakh quintal of sugarcane and produced over 33.55 lakh quintals of sugar so far during the ongoing crushing season. Sugarfed spokesperson said that Shahabad cooperative sugar mill has so far crushed a maximum of 60.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane and has produced over 6.31 lakh quintals of sugar, followed by Rohtak cooperative sugar mill which has crushed 50.22 lakh quintals of sugarcane, producing over 4.93 lakh quintals of sugar. So far, the average recovery of sugar from cooperative sugar mills has been 10.15 per cent.
