Flipkart-owned online fashion store Myntra has appointed Mithun Sundar as its chief revenue officer. He will join the company in June and report to CEO Ananth Narayanan.

Sundar will be taking over from the outgoing Chief Revenue Officer Naresh Krishnaswamy and will play a key role in continuing Myntra’s growth pace devising and implementing strategies for the next chapter in the brand’s journey, the company said.

Krishnaswamy and Myntra's chief product officer Ambarish Kenghe had quit the company in February this year.

Sundar is joining the e-tailer from PepsiCo where he created the strategy function for the India region and was leading the strategy for the India businesses (Beverages, Snacks, and Nutrition) for two and half years.

Before that, he worked at McKinsey for nearly eight years, where he served consumer facing companies on sales and marketing engagements. Sundar has also had a three-year stint at Unilever.

“Sundar's vast experience and expertise in strategy, sales and operations will play an important role in charting the next phase of growth for the company. I firmly believe his appointment has further strengthened the leadership team at Myntra, which is extremely important from a growth perspective” said Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra-Jabong

"I consider it a privilege to be a part of an organization that has to its credit, several firsts and technical disruptions in the industry. I look forward to a lot of learning, contribution and impact." said Mithun Sundar.

Over the past year, Myntra has been scaling up its offline presence in the country. In December, ET reported that the Bengaluru-based company was evaluating the possibility of launching Myntra stores that will house all of its in-house brands and private labels in a single roof. If finalised, these stores were expected to launch by end of 2018.

Myntra was also tapping into mom-and-pop stores to showcase and sell its merchandise by hiring dedicated shelves at such stores.
