JAMMU: The redesigned and upgraded website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which was launched today, would provide all necessary information to pilgrims intending to undertake the upcoming annual yatra to the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said.
"It is mobile phone friendly and aids user experience, accessibility and outreach. The website is compliant with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) and accessible to persons with visual impairment," SASB Chief Executive Officer Umang Narula said.

He was speaking after Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, who is also chairman of the SASB, launched the website here.

The nearly two-month-long yatra is scheduled to commence from the twin routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal on June 28 and conclude on August 26.

"All necessary yatra related information such as registration procedures, format of application form for procuring and compulsory health certificate have been uploaded on the website and every effort shall be made to keep it updated on a daily basis," Narula said.

He said the new website would not only provide information to pilgrims to plan their pilgrimage by obtaining advance registration but will provide a list of dos and don'ts.

Appreciating the effort of the SASB, the governor directed that special weather advisory bulletins and satellite images, which show weather forecasts along both the yatra routes, should be updated every half hour and the yatra web page specially designed by the India Meteorological Department should be linked with the website.
