Stocks end higher as tech shares score partial rebound from Monday rout

Stocks ended higher Tuesday, reclaiming a chunk of the ground lost in the previous day's tech-led rout. The S&P 500 SPX, +1.26% rose 1.3% to close at 2,614.45, according to preliminary figures, while the Dow DJIA, +1.65% gained nearly 390 points, or 1.6%, to around 24,033.36. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.04% gained 1% to 6,941.28. Shares of Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, +1.46% rose 1.5%. The e-commerce giant slumped more than 5% Monday as President Donald Trump continued to tweet criticisms of the company.
