NOPD investigates crime scene in a double shooting
NEW ORLEANS (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that occurred before 5 p.m. Sunday evening on the 3100 block of Gentilly Boulevard that left one victim dead and a second injured.
At approximately 4:57 p.m., police responded to an initial call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area.
As the officers arrived, they discovered a white vehicle belonging to one of the victims, who had already been transported to an area hospital suffering from an unspecified number of gunshot wounds.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital..
Officers then learned of a second male victim in this incident that arrived at an area hospital for treatment of gunshot wound injuries.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
