Several injured in clash over land dispute

Situation at Barai village in Nawadih block of the district turned tense on Sunday after two families clashed over land dispute.

As many as seven persons got injured in the clash, police said adding that condition of four is said to be critical. All have been admitted at DVC hospital Bokaro Thermal identified as Kundan Saw, Suresh Saw, Rubi Devi, Baby Devi, Guddi  Kumari and Joyti Devi, sources said.

According to information dispute erupted at the village situated about 40 kilometer from Bokaro district headquarters when a dozen youth including few women attacked Kundan Saw who was playing cricket at Barai football ground, while Nandlal Saw of second party said that Kundan Saw and his other family members attacked on them with full planning over some unknown reason. Nandlal's family members and others rushed to rescue him from the attackers.

As Kundan's supporters advanced attackers fled from the site leaving them injured, sources said. In a retaliatory move, both families members and others attacked those who were involved in the attack. Both groups pelted stones at each other as well as vandalized few shops and vehicles in the area.

As situation went from bad to worse, Pank-Narayan police officer-in charge Shiv Lal Tuddu and forces rushed to Barai village and controlled the situation.

The Pannk police managed to mediate a temporary settlement but tension flared again.The officer-in charge said that the meeting was to seek the best solution to the dispute. However the police have registered a cases against each other and have been investigating.
