Milton Carl "Mike" Scheib, 85, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids due to natural causes. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Oak Grove Church in Shellsburg with Pastor Matt Magee officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Private family inurnment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton, with military rites provided by American Legion Post 57 of Vinton and Iowa Military Funeral Honors
of Des Moines.
Mike is survived by his children, Bruce (Jerri) Scheib of Mason, Ohio, and Tammy (Art) Jurchen of Urbana; brothers, Marlin "Bud" (Ann) Scheib of Thomasville, Ga., Larry (DeeAnn) Scheib of Cedar Rapids and Lyle Scheib of Craig, Colo.; sister Faith (Tom) Kincheloe of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and special fishing buddy, Ronnie Kerkman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lily Marie; second wife, Karen Scheib; and brother-in-Christ, Charles "Chuck" Tharp.
A memorial fund has been established.
