President Donald Trump will nominate Justin Muzinich as deputy treasury secretary, the White House said Monday.
Muzinich is currently a counselor to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and worked on the tax-overhaul package that went into law late last year.
If confirmed, Muzinich would become the agency’s second-in-command, helping Mnuchin manage the department. The position has been vacant since Mnuchin took over last year.
Before his Treasury position, Muzinich was president of Muzinich & Co., an international investment firm. He also taught at Columbia Business School.
