Soaring house prices and stagnant wages have done little to put the majority of millennials off homeownership.

Despite this, few young people are aware of the best ways to save and invest their money to help save for a deposit. Only 60pc of students have heard of an Isa, while even fewer know about Help to Buy (24pc) and Lifetime Isas (19pc), according to online forum Student Room.

Katie Hobson, 24, is no different. A mature student in her second year at the University of Hull, she plans to specialise in special needs teaching.
