The ruling and opposition parties are given equal importance in a strong democracy. But the success and relevance of the ruling party lies in the impartiality of the government.

The agreement and disagreement must be limited to political issues but if the government shows partiality in implementation of law and order it becomes a dangerous trend for the democracy.

Case was registered immediately against Ater Congress MLA immediately when a journalism student leveled sexual harassment allegation against him, but no action has been taken against minister Rampal Singh or his son Girijesh Singh even 15 days after the minister’s daughter-in-law Preeti Raghuvanshi committed suicide despite widespread dissatisfaction in the state and demands for action in the case. This has raised doubts over the government’s fair and unbiased style of working.

Raisen resident Preeti Raghuwanshi committed suicide by hanging herself at her home on March 17 and later her family alleged that minister Rampal Singh’s son Girijesh had secretly married her last year. The family has claimed that Preeti ended her life under pressure when Girjesh’s family was planning his remarriage.

But the government has been doing its level best to shield the cabinet minister. No action has been taken against even against Preeti’s husband Girijesh. The police are only trying to make a showoff of the action but in fact they are doing nothing.

CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been talking about stringent action in crimes against women but this case shows the government’s promise of action is limited to common people.

While the ruling BJP is in a dilemma over how to handle the suicide of Preeti Raghuwanshi , minister’s son during the last rites of the deceased admitted before all those present that Preeti was his wife. The people have seen that the government has not only a soft corner for the minister but also does not think that he is guilty and is trying to save him.

‘The role of minister Rampal Singh in the suicide case is suspicions because he earlier refused to admit that Preeti was his daughter-in-law. But later he accepted her as his daughter-in-law. But this does not mean that deceased Preeti got justice. On the other hand the government machinery acted with unbelievable alacrity in Hemant Katare case. The government’s role is clearly partial in this case.
