Tenders invited for developmental works

Developmental works as part of the Smart City project would be taken up very soon as the authorities have started inviting tenders for the works in Karimnagar town, said Mayor S. Ravinder Singh.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said that the Union government had released ₹18 crore during the financial year 2017-18 and announced the release of ₹200 crore in the financial year 2018-19. In the first phase of Smart City project, they would take up several developmental works in the Housing board colony and develop it as a model colony in the town.

Similarly, they had also proposed to take up development of the busy commercial centre of Tower circle, from Annapurna complex to the Kisan nagar area, under the Area-based development (ADB).

Priority to greenery

In the model colony and also the commercial centres, they would provide 24x7 drinking water supply by fixing the meters, he said, and added that they would also accord priority to greenery along the roads.

He also said that they had planned to develop roads from the Collectorate to Ambedkar stadium as model roads.

Thanking Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar for ensuring the release of funds under Smart City, he said that they would expedite the Smart City as early as possible with the completion of tenders.
