Liquor, vehicles worth Rs 5.50 lakh seized

Excise Department sleuths carried out raids at two places in Hukkeri taluk and seized Goan liquor being transported illegally in a car and scooter. The value of the vehicles and liquor is estimated at Rs 5.50 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off that three people were carrying liquor illegally in a car and a scooter, raids were conducted and the accused were arrested.

Nearly 20 litres of liquor, a Honda City car and Honda Aviator bike were seized. Two different cases have been booked in the Hukkeri Range.
