AirAsiaAirAsia is ready to make its debut foray into US Silicon Valley soon.

The Silicon Valley is already the nerve centre of several start ups and international technology brands with an aim to seek the best startups in the travel industry as confirmed by the airline.

And this low-cost air carrier would carry out the search in partnership with Plus and Play Tech Center, a global innovative platform for startups, investors and corporations.

As the anchor partner of Plug and Play’s Travel and Hospitality program, AirAsia would be able to identify, observe and support relevant startups as they develop brand new products for the travel sector.

This program mentors new business and also collaborates with the new technologies that are now emerging.

And the new partnership would be the first of many to be involved in the fresh arena of innovation and would also permit them to identify the leading edge technologies that would help maintain their leadership in terms of cost and customer experience and transform AirAsia from an airline into a global digital company as per Aireen Omar who is the deputy group CEO of AirAsia (digital, transformation and corporate services).

Plug and Play founder and CEO Saeed Amidi had welcomed AirAsia to Silicon Valley and had also remarked that the expertise of the airline would be a great addition to the ecosystem of the platform.
