Rajesh murder: search stepped up in Mumbai

Info that they tried to flee the country

The team investigating the murder case of former radio jockey Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh has intensified its search for the members of the ‘quotation gang’ in Mumbai.

The move is in the wake of information that they attempted to flee from the country.

Attempts to thwart

However, police have adopted all possible measures to thwart such attempts with the high alert that has been issued at most of the airports and other transit points across the country.

At the same time, the police are yet to conclude their search operations at other places including in Tamil Nadu. Sources said that the police officers had obtained details of the assailants with two of them suspected to have arrived in the State from the Middle East a few weeks ago.

Suspicion

The finding reportedly strengthened suspicion that the conspiracy behind the murder had been hatched abroad.

There were reports that Rajesh had allegedly involved in an extra-marital affair with a Qatar-based woman.

Phones not used

The ongoing probe remains complicated by the fact that those accused have not operated their mobile phones after the alleged crime.

Sleuths, however, suspect that they could have contacted other accomplices abroad or in the State through a variety of social networking platforms.
