Lewis Hamilton: MotoGP RESPOND to Mercedes star’s shock F1 announcement
LEWIS HAMILTON’s supposed love affair with MotoGP has hit new heights with the sport ready to welcome him with open arms.
TWITTER
Lewis Hamilton stunned fans with a shock announcement on Instagram yesterday morning.
The four-time Formula One world champions posted a picture of himself standing next to a motorbike.
He captioned the picture: “After much thought, I am making the switch to two wheels Happy Easter guys!”
Of course, this was all part of Hamilton’s plan to catch a few fans out with an April Fool’s Day prank.
And MotoGP have got wind of Hamilton’s post, as they officially welcomed the 33-year-old to their sport, suggesting they’d even see him at the Argentine GP this weekend.

The official MotoGP account tweeted: “We’ve been dropping hints for a while now....
“Welcome aboard, @LewisHamilton! See you in Argentina”.
But most fans didn’t fall for it and some MotoGP fans even took aim at Hamilton - insisting they wouldn’t want him to swap F1 for MotoGP.
“Like he would have the balls to do that!! #April1st”, one fan tweeted.
“Stick to 4 wheels Lewis you haven’t got the minerals for two.”, another said.

A third said: “God! I sincerely hope so! We dont need his whining arrogance in motogp. Otherwise we'd have Biaggi back!”
Hamilton has made no secret of his admiration for MotoGP in the past but the Mercedes driver is focused on winning a fifth world title this season, for now at least.
The Brit came second in the F1 2018 season opener in Melbourne last month as Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel took victory.
Hamilton will look to get back to winning ways in Bahrain - not Argentina - when the F1 season resumes this weekend.
