The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI), Goa, on Monday welcomed the government’s decision to implement the provisions of the RP 2021 due to its anticipated positive impact on real estate demand.
Lauding the efforts of the Town and Country Planning Minister, CREDAI-Goa president Dr Jagannath (Desh) Prabhudessai said, “The decision is a bold one, as it will help to expel the long-standing issues facing the sector.”
Prabhudesai said that ultimately it is necessary to
have a regional plan in place and “this is the first step towards it.” He added that CREDAI members would continue to follow up with the government on having a full-fledged regional plan.
Prabudesai said that with provisions of two plans – the RP 2001 and RP 2021 in force, builders lacked clarity on zones and settlement areas which delayed projects. “The current decision to implement the provisions of the RP 2021 will clear things,” said Prabhudesai.
