BSF seizes silver ornaments worth Rs 3.61 lakh in Bengal

(BSF) personnel seized eight packets of silver ornaments, weighing 8.74 kg and valued approximately at Rs 3.61 lakh, near the India-border in West Bengal's district, a BSF statement said on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the border force laid a trap near the India-Border Road (IBBR) in Krishnanagar sector on Monday and observed some suspicious movements in the afternoon. Two-three miscreants were trying to throw some packets over the India-Border Fence (IBBF).

The BSF personnel challenged the miscreants but they managed to run away towards the Indian side leaving behind some packets, the statement said.
