Don't worry, it missed you: Chinese space station crashes over Pacific

The Chinese space station Tiangong-1 crashed back to Earth on Sunday, landing in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. Officials said most of the space lab burned up re-entering the Earth's atmosphere, and whatever remained splashed harmlessly in the ocean. The station, launched in 2011 and abandoned in 2016, had worried some officials because the exact time and location of re-entry was unknown. The craft splashed down around 8:15 p.m. Eastern time, or 8:15 a.m. Monday, local time.
