The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down about 700 points at its lows Monday afternoon, as a selloff in technology and internet shares and worries about escalating trade wars walloped equities. The Dow DJIA, -1.90% was down about 730 points at its intraday low, and was most recently off 710 points, or 2.9%, at 23,386, heading for its lowest close since November close since November. Only shares of UnitedHealth Group Inc. UNH, +1.50% were trading in positive territory, up 1.1%, while shares of 3M Co. MMM, -3.14% and Home Depot Inc. HD, -3.00% led decliners, both off at least 4%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index SPX, -2.23% which also was headed to its lowest close since November, recently down 3.2%, after breaking below its 200-day moving average at 2,589.93. The technology-oriented Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -2.74% was off 3.5% at 6,811. The trading action came as investors were off for Good Friday, with the market facing low volume trading.
