A group of parents whose children study in Ryan International school sector-31 branch staged a protest inside the school over shifting the Class IX students to the school’s Bhondsi campus. However, later the school management agreed to accept the demands and decided against the move.
Two months ago the school management had taken a pledge letter from the parents in which they had mentioned that class IX students will be enrolled at their Bhondsi campus but the classes will continue in the school’s sector-31 branch. The parents had agreed to the move.
“The school had informed us that Class IX students will attend their classes in the school’s Bhondsi campus from April 2. The school management had called the parents on Saturday. They had called every parent in gaps of around 10 to 15 minutes so that we could not talk each other,” Sushil a parent, said.
The parents began assembling at the gate of Ryan International in Sector 31 at around 11 am and wanted an assurance that their children will not resume their studies at the Bhondsi campus. The protest continued for around 3 hours at the school premises.
“My daughter is studying here for last 11 years. A new academic session will resume from April 2. We cannot move our children to other schools. The management should have informed earlier about their move,” a parent said.
Soon after the information a police team also reached the school campus and control the situation.
“A group of parents had gathered to hold protest so we deployed personnel there to control an unwanted situation,” said Ravinder Kumar, public relations officer of Gurugram police.
The Ryan school management assured the protesting parents that the children will resume their study at the sector-31 branch. Also, proper measures will be put in place for the students’ safety. The school authority had also put a notice that children’s till class 10 will be studied in the sector-31 branch.
