Bruins lose Carlo, Nash to injuries
Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo was removed from Saturday's game against the Florida Panthers via stretcher with a potentially serious leg injury.
Carlo, 21, was battling for the puck near the boards when he suddenly tumbled awkwardly to the ice.
Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy was still waiting to learn the seriousness of the injury when he met with reporters following the 5-1 victory.
"I don't have an update yet," Cassidy said. "Didn't look good when you go off on a stretcher, obviously. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed on that one."
Center Riley Nash also was injured in the game after being struck in the ear with a shot. Cassidy said Nash received stitches in the injured ear.
Both players will miss Sunday's road game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Nash, 28, has posted 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists) in 76 games. Carlo has six assists in 76 contests.
