Graham Lee Wiatt, 66, of Monroe, Virginia, entered the world in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 19, 1952. He stepped into the next world from Lynchburg, Virginia, on March 27, 2018. Graham was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Wiatt of Monroe. He graduated from Amherst County High School in 1970 and from Virginia Tech in 1974. He was a talented musician, singer, artist, and web designer and, most recently, enjoyed his time working at Ankida Ridge Vineyard in Amherst. Graham also liked astronomy, hiking, reading, photography, and spending time with his cat, Junipurr. He was a long-time member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Monroe. Graham is survived by his sisters, Diane Thompson and her husband, Wendell, and Yvonne Falls and her husband, Roger. He is also survived by a son, Lucas Cretzmeyer, of Richmond, and many beloved cousins. Diane and Yvonne wish to express their gratitude to all the medical personnel who took care of Graham during his battle with leukemia and lymphoma: Dr. Kathleen Paul, Dr. Joy Hillard, and the staff of the Allen B. Pearson Cancer Center in Lynchburg; Dr. Craig Portell and the staff of the Emily Couric Cancer Center in Charlottesville; and Dr. Patricia Pletke and the hospice staff at Guggenheimer Rehabilitation Center in Lynchburg. As his mother did in 1999, Graham donated his body to medical science. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, 3 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 732 High Peak Road, Monroe, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5540 Falmouth Street, Richmond, VA 23230, or a charity of your choice. Graham left a cancer-scarred body that could no longer serve him and took on a new body that can. Amen.
