Star Wars 9: JJ Abrams confirms TIME TRAVEL to right the wrongs of The Last Jedi
STAR WARS 9 director JJ Abrams has revealed time travel will be used in Episode IX to undo everything fans hated about The Last Jedi.
Back in December The Last Jedi finally hit cinemas, but Episode VIII of the Skywalker saga received a polarising response.
While many critics loved it, some fans were very angry with Rian Johnson’s treatment of the Star Wars franchise.
From Luke’s milking and Snoke’s death, to Rey’s parents being nobodies, the biggest moments were some of weirdest and most unsatisfying.
With The Force Awakens director Abrams returning to complete the sequel trilogy with Episode IX, fans have been wondering how he’ll deal with Johnson’s controversial big reveals.

After all Abrams set up the big questions and characters in The Force Awakens, only to hand the baton on to Johnson as writer and director.
With no overall story arc for the trilogy, it was up to The Last Jedi helmer to do what he wanted with everything Abrams had set up.
Following the fan backlash to The Last Jedi, Abrams has now confirmed he will introduce time travel – made canon in Star Wars Rebels – to right the wrongs of The Last Jedi.
In a statement today, Abrams said: “It took a lot of effort for me to reboot Star Wars with The Force Awakens.”
Abrams continued: “I gave the fans what they wanted, a narrative copy of A New Hope, but Rian was just way too bold with The Last Jedi.
“Since I’m concluding the trilogy with Episode IX, I can confirm that the events of The Last Jedi will be undone thanks to time travel now being canon in the Star Wars universe.
“Rest assured Rey’s parents will probably be Han and Leia, Snoke won’t die until after an epic lightsaber battle at the end where his true identity is revealed and Luke won’t be so sulky.”
“Fans don’t have to worry. A predictable, inoffensive ending to the saga is guaranteed thanks to sci-fi’s easiest get out – time travel.”

It’s currently unknown how time travel will manifest itself in Episode IX, however fans can expect alternate reality spin-offs.
Following Star Wars 9’s release “What If?” trilogies are in the works, including the whole prequel trilogy, but just not terrible.
Star Wars Episode IX will be released in UK cinemas on December 20, 2019.
