Residents 'covered in blood' after man stabbed to death in Brisbane home invasion

Residents at a share house on Brisbane's southside have been left "covered in blood" after a home invasion resulted in a young man being stabbed repeatedly and dying at the scene.

Police said several men were inside the home on Metropole Street in Robertson about 2pm on Sunday when three male home invaders got inside and confronted one of the residents.

Police established a crime scene and launched a murder investigation after the stabbing.

An argument escalated into a fight that resulted in one of the home invaders, a 21-year-old man, being stabbed multiple times.

Emergency services were called and tried to revive the man but he died at the scene.

"I probably haven’t seen more blood than this for a long time," Inspector Dan Bragg told 7 News.

"Several of the occupants of the residence were covered in blood, we’re not entirely sure at this stage whose blood that was."

The male resident, who the home invaders confronted, also suffered a head injury in the fight and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Detectives launched a murder investigation and a group of men were assisting with inquiries.
