Stating that the government has decided to encourage entrepreneurs to set up tourism-based projects at Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar under the Make-in-Odisha programme, Panda said a land bank will also be created by the tourism department.
Statistics provided by the minister in the reply points to the fact that the contribution of tourism sector to the GSDP of the state has decreased in 2017 compared to 2010. The minister said while tourism sector had contributed 13.42 per cent to state's GSDP in 2010-11, the contribution has come down to 10.66 percent in 2017-18.
