NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has suspended one of its official in connection with the leak of the Class XII economics paper on Sunday and has instituted an inquiry.
This is the first
CBSE official against whom action has been initiated after the exam paper leak probe was initiated last week by the Board.
The school education secretary, ministry of human resource development announced the same on twitter on Sunday evening, stating that the official has been found lax in supervising one of the centres in Delhi.

Anil Swarup tweeted, “Consequent to the arrest of 2 teachers from Mother Khajani Convent School, Mungeshpur, Delhi, & a coaching institute Head, Tauquir by Delhi Police, for colluding to leak the Class12 eco. paper & probe done by CBSE, a #CBSE personnel, KS Rana, found lax in supervision.”
“On the direction of the HRD Minister @PrakashJavdekar to take swift action against culprits, the Board has suspended K S Rana, the official found lax in supervising examination centre (0859) with immediate effect. A formal inquiry has been instituted,” added Swarup.
The CBSE on March 28 announced the cancellation of the Class XII Economics and Class X Mathematics papers following reports of leaks and decided to conduct re-examination for both the subjects. However, the board later stated that retest for mathematics, if at all, will be conducted only for Delhi-NCR and Haryana in July.
