GOKULAM rout IG ASE 6-1

shillong: Gokulam Kerala FC decimated a hapless Indira Gandhi Academy SE side 6-1 to notch up their first win in the Hero Indian Women's League 2017-18 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here in Shillong on Saturday. Ugandan striker Ikwaput Fazila did bulk of the damage as she scored five times (32nd, 44th, 45+2nd, 58th, 76th) to notch up a resounding victory. Anita Rawat was the other scorer for Gokulam in the 81st minute while Sumithra Kamaraj scored the lone goal for Indira Gandhi ASE.  Gokulam Kerala FC will now square off against Eastern Sporting Union on April 2, 2018 while Indira Gandhi ASE will take on Rising Student's Club on April 4.

BENGAL-KERALA ALL SET FOR FINAL

kolkata: Bengal and Kerala are both aiming to end a remarkable Hero Santosh Trophy campaign by winning the title when they face off in the championship clash at Vivekananda Yubabharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Sunday. Fittingly enough two of the most successful teams in the 72-year history of the competition, Bengal with 32 titles and Kerala the five-time winners will be vying for the title. Bengal blanked Karnataka in a nervy semifinal encounter as two of the veterans in the side Jiten Murmu and Tirthankar Sarkar scored for the hosts to set-up a date with Kerala.

Isner to face Zverev in Miami

Key biscayne: After John Isner clinched his berth in the Miami Open final, he came over the top one last time, throwing a celebratory punch at a speed to match his thunderous serve. The towering American moved one step closer to the most prestigious title of his 14-year career by beating a weary Juan Martin del Potro 6-1, 7-6 (2) in Friday's semifinals. "I'm playing the best tennis I've played in a very, very long time," said Isner, 32. "And I'm so happy to be doing it here." Dominating with his serve and aggressive baseline strokes, the 6-foot-10 Isner ended a 15-match winning streak for del Potro.

time for  INDIA DAY

brooklyn: The Brooklyn Nets will celebrate India Day when they host the Detroit Pistons at Barclays Centre at 6 pm on Sunday. The evening, in partnership with Excel India, will include elements that celebrate Indian heritage and culture. The top two teams will perform again later, with the first place team performing at halftime, and the second place team performing 30 minutes prior to tipoff. During the game, the Brooklynettes will perform a Bollywood themed dance routine choreographed by Chandni Navodita.
