BHUBANESWAR: A high-level meeting of agitating block grant teachers with the state ministerial committee concluded successfully here on Saturday, with the government agreeing to give grant-in-aid to all categories of teachers. The meeting was chaired by finance minister Sashibhusan Behera. The committee said they recommended withdrawal of the controversial affidavits.

However, the agitating teachers, who are on indefinite strike from March 26 have not called off their strike yet. "We are waiting for the government to issue notification regarding withdrawal of the affidavits," said Pabitra Mahala, convenor of the All Odisha Teachers and Employees United Forum.
